We’re thrilled to announce that Lava Network is now fully integrated into Range’s IBC Explorer, empowering users with better access to cross-chain data and transactions.
With this integration, our IBC Explorer is now tracking transactions across 19 chains in the Cosmos ecosystem. In addition to expanding our cross-chain intelligence capabilities, this integration was made possible by leveraging Lava Network’s innovative approach to provide fast and reliable RPC and data services.
This blog looks at what makes Lava Network different from other IBC-enabled chains we’ve been integrating.
Why Lava Network?
Lava Network is a protocol that coordinates traffic flow through the onchain world. The protocol aggregates data providers across every blockchain, dynamically scaling to support demand. When users interact with dapps, they send transactions and RPC queries which are routed to the fastest, most reliable providers on Lava.
RPC (Remote Procedure Call) is the backbone of blockchain communication, acting as the API language that enables seamless interaction between users and blockchain networks. Nearly every action on a blockchain—whether through an app, wallet, or smart contract—relies on RPC calls to fetch or send data. For example, staking a token involves an RPC call to delegate funds, minting an NFT requires submitting transaction data, estimating gas fees demands real-time network insights, making a swap involves calls to liquidity pools, and checking your wallet balance requires retrieving data from the blockchain. As such, RPC endpoints (or providers) need to be fast, accurate and reliable.
However, ensuring reliable RPC services has long been a challenge. While centralized providers are fast, they often face bottlenecks, outages, and scalability limitations. Decentralized solutions have struggled to balance speed, availability, and trustlessness. These issues can lead to disruptions in user experience, transaction failures, or even vulnerabilities.
With the rise of onchain AI Agents, the importance of secure and scalable RPC services has grown exponentially. These autonomous agents operate independently, requiring constant, reliable access to blockchain data to execute complex tasks in real-time. From managing smart contracts to orchestrating onchain trading strategies, AI Agents depend on a robust data infrastructure to thrive. This shift highlights the critical need for decentralized protocols like Lava Network, which can deliver high-performance, trustless RPC services that meet the demands of this new era.
So how does Lava Network solve for speed, reliability, and trust? Through its data marketplace, Lava enables RPC providers to compete and deliver high-quality RPC services while maintaining decentralization. Lava’s API services then combines the data from these providers, ensuring data integrity and allowing users a fast and reliable API endpoint.

How we integrated Lava Network
To bring Lava Network into the IBC Explorer, we utilized Lava’s own RPC and data services. This integration enables us to deliver:
Accurate and Scalable Data Retrieval: Leveraging Lava’s peer-to-peer marketplace for blockchain data ensures users experience real-time, reliable insights into IBC transactions.
Enhanced Security: Lava’s trustless infrastructure guarantees data integrity, minimizing the risk of manipulation or downtime.
This collaboration expands our platform’s monitoring scope and lays the foundation for future integrations and decentralized innovations.
