Using Tempo in production: Treasury and risk infrastructure with Range

Tempo has officially launched its mainnet, introducing a new infrastructure layer designed for developers building agentic and machine-driven financial systems. The launch focuses on enabling machine-to-machine payments (MPP), a native protocol that facilitates autonomous value transfer between software agents, services, and onchain systems.

With this launch, Tempo enters production as a network purpose-built for programmable payments and automated financial workflows.

From day one, Tempo is fully integrated into Range’s blockchain risk and intelligence platform - ensuring developers and enterprises have immediate access to cross-chain observability, risk monitoring, and forensic tooling.

If you are building agentic or automated financial applications, managing treasury or payment infrastructure, or preparing for enterprise deployment on Tempo, Range has the tooling to monitor, secure, and scale your operations.

What Tempo mainnet brings to stablecoins

Tempo’s mainnet launch introduces infrastructure for agentic finance, where software systems can initiate, execute, and reconcile transactions without manual intervention. At its core is Machine-to-Machine Payments (MPP) - a native protocol designed for automated payments between services, APIs, and agents.

MPP enables:

  • Automated payment flows across applications and services

  • High-frequency, low-latency transaction execution

  • Programmable logic for payments between systems

  • Emerging use cases such as AI agents, automated trading, and real-time service billing

This represents a structural shift in how financial activity is executed onchain. Transactions are no longer initiated solely by users, but by systems operating on predefined rules and triggers.

For developers, this introduces new design patterns for building applications that rely on autonomous execution. For enterprises, it introduces a new set of operational requirements around monitoring, compliance, and risk management.

Why observability and security Matter for MPP

While Tempo expands capabilities at the execution layer, production usage requires additional infrastructure to manage financial operations at scale.

Machine-driven transaction systems increase both transaction volume and operational complexity. This introduces new challenges:

  • Transaction velocity: High-frequency payments require real-time monitoring

  • Automated execution: Errors or malicious interactions can propagate quickly

  • Cross-chain flows: Payments may route across multiple networks and bridges

  • Compliance requirements: Enterprises need auditability and traceability of automated flows

Traditional blockchain explorers and monitoring tools are not designed for these conditions. Teams need infrastructure that can track, analyze, and secure transactions as they happen, across chains.

This is where Range provides immediate value for Tempo developers and enterprise teams.

A unified system of record for Tempo activity

Tempo is integrated into our treasury monitoring infrastructure, allowing teams to treat Tempo as part of a unified balance sheet rather than a separate system.

The platform aggregates balances, transactions, and counterparties across wallets, custodians, exchanges, and blockchains into a single system of record.

With Tempo support, this extends to real-time tracking of Tempo transaction flows, unified balance visibility, and complete transaction histories that are audit-ready.

This allows finance and operations teams to incorporate Tempo into existing workflows without introducing new reconciliation processes.

Real-time risk intelligence for Tempo transactions

As stablecoin usage increases, counterparty risk becomes a core operational concern.

Range’s Risk API analyzes Tempo transactions in real time, enabling teams to evaluate risk before and after execution. This includes counterparty attribution, transaction scoring, and detection of anomalous behavior.

Instead of relying on external reviews or delayed checks, risk assessment becomes part of the transaction flow itself. For applications leveraging MPP, this ensures that automated payment flows can be evaluated and controlled in real time.

The Risk API currently screens tens of billions in transaction volume each month and is embedded directly into customer workflows.

Payment policy enforcement and execution control

Production payment systems require clear rules governing how funds move, along with the ability to enforce those rules directly within transaction execution.

Range enables teams to define and enforce policy-driven payment operations across Tempo-based flows. This includes:

  • Approval workflows and authorization logic

  • Risk-based policies that determine whether transactions proceed

  • Embedded controls to enforce internal governance requirements

These capabilities allow organizations to operate with structured oversight, without relying on manual reviews or fragmented tooling.

Range also extends beyond monitoring and intelligence into execution through Faraday, enabling teams to coordinate how transactions are executed - not just observe them. Payments can be routed based on predefined policies, with risk checks integrated directly into the execution flow.

In practice, Tempo provides the execution environment, while Range provides the control layer that governs how transactions are approved, routed, and completed.

Supporting production-workflows with Tempo

Tempo mainnet introduces a new execution layer for machine-to-machine payments and agentic financial systems. As adoption moves toward enterprise use cases, the requirements extend beyond execution into monitoring, risk management, and operational control.

Adoption at scale also depends on infrastructure that supports the full transaction lifecycle. This includes:

  • Real-time monitoring through a cross-chain blockchain explorer

  • Embedded risk intelligence via APIs for transaction screening and compliance

  • Structured data access for analytics, reporting, and internal systems

  • Cross-chain forensic tooling for investigation and incident response

With our integration for Tempo across our product suite, we can support a range of real-world production workflows, starting from today:

  • Treasury teams can manage cross-chain stablecoin balances while incorporating Tempo into existing monitoring and reporting systems

  • Payment platforms can use Tempo for settlement while relying on Range for transaction screening, monitoring, and auditability

  • Institutions evaluating Tempo can integrate it into environments that already enforce internal controls, compliance requirements, and reporting standards

About Range

Range is the leading intelligence and risk platform for cross-chain stablecoin infrastructure, trusted by the Solana Foundation, Circle, Stellar, dYdX, Squads and more. We provide the compliance, risk, and routing systems behind the next generation of onchain payments and applications.

Used by fintechs, protocols, and DeFi teams, Faraday is our transaction engine that enables cross-chain routing, compliance enforcement, and real-time risk monitoring through a single API. Our Stablecoin Explorer at explorer.money - the first of its kind - tracks almost 200 stablecoins across all chains and bridges.

We also provide the security layer behind some of the most sensitive infrastructure on Solana. Our Solana Transaction Security Standard, protects programs, accounts and treasuries worth over $30b, while our Risk API and Onchain Risk Verifier enable privacy-focused apps on Solana to stay compliant.

Whether you're building programmable treasuries or privacy flows, Range helps ensure they're safe, compliant, and ready for scale.
